timewarp [-restore]
Some (installation) software, even from the 2nd half of the 1990ies, is not y2k compliant. Oracle's orainst.exe from the Develeoper/2000 series crashes and that's unacceptable during automatic installation of a PC. Vendors sometimes provide a "solution" to that problem which results in changing the date back to a date before 2000-01-01, install their software and then reset the date to the real date to circumvent the problem.
This is a very bad "solution", actually it's a very poor workaround, especially when it comes to "unattend" installations which are designed not to need any manual intervention at all. In order to work around the problem, timewarp saves the current date in the registry (HKLM\Software\Timewarp\Today) and resets the date to 1999-12-12 which is safely before the y2k problem hits. After installing the y2k non-compliant software, the original date is restored and the registry entry is removed.
